Natelege Swainson – My Story
When I was a young girl, I was the one organizing the games, planning the activities, and orchestrating. Some may call it bossy, but I just saw the most efficient way to do things and was eager to share it. I had a knack for seeing the whole picture and innately knowing the solution, or at least was able to figure out the way forward – for myself and others. People of all ages would listen to my advice and trust in my wisdom and knowledge. Trusted that I would give sound, well-thought-out advice. As I became an adult, I have been known to be the person to go to when you want something done and need advice. Even in my professional life, I found myself falling into the role of “the fixer”. If there was a roadblock or problem that couldn’t be solved, I was the one that my colleagues came to for advice, a solution, or to direct the conversation to where a solution was found.
As this became more and more of a theme in my life, I realized that this was a divine gift that I was given to help others. After undergrad, I worked for a Fortune 500 company, and realized over time that I was not working to my full potential nor was I doing what truly brings me joy – which is helping others. In my 30s – with 3 young children – I decided to switch careers to something more meaningful to me by pursuing a Master’s degree in public health. In my career as a public health professional, I have found that I am most happy and feel that I am working in my purpose when I am able to use my knack at creating efficiencies, organization and structure, and planning skills, combined with my innate intuition to execute projects successfully. I find the most joy and satisfaction in watching a plan come to fruition, supporting the players, nudging things along, and finding solutions along the way. This is my passion!
I have enjoyed a successful career in the corporate and higher education sectors, but I am most passionate about helping others succeed as well. Let’s face it, life is hard. There are ups and downs and twists and turns. Having someone to support and guide you through the challenges is invaluable! I have learned that the key to navigating it all is to understand that it’s not all about the destination, but the journey. Whether in your business or your personal life, let me use my gifts to help guide you, move past blockages and discover success on your journey!
